Job description
The Sweater Designer will support the full product lifecycle from initial concept through final development, partnering cross-functionally with merchandising, production, technical design, and external vendors to bring trend-right product to market. This role requires a strong creative eye, technical product knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment., * Support the design and development process from concept through final production
- Research fashion trends, customer preferences, silhouettes, color direction, and fabric innovation
- Create sketches, artwork, and product concepts aligned with brand and market direction
- Partner closely with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, and external vendors throughout development
- Manage sample organization, tracking, and communication across cross-functional teams
- Assist in preparing presentation boards and materials for seasonal and milestone meetings
- Support prototype development, approvals, and product execution throughout the development cycle
- Ensure product aligns with customer expectations, trend direction, and business objectives
Requirements
We're partnering with a growing fashion client seeking a Sweater Designer with strong juniors apparel experience and a background in sweaters and cut & sew product to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with an off-price background who understands trend-driven product development across juniors, missy, and contemporary categories and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment., * 3+ years of apparel design experience
- Strong juniors apparel experience required
- Sweater design experience required
- Cut & sew experience strongly preferred
- Missy and/or contemporary category experience a plus
- Off-price fashion experience highly preferred
- Strong sketching ability, color sense, and fabric knowledge
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
