Job description

We are seeking an experienced IBM Power Systems Administrator / Engineer to support and modernize enterprise infrastructure environments within a mission-critical ERP ecosystem. This role is responsible for the administration, optimization, security, and long-term reliability of IBM Power Systems, IBM i environments, virtualization platforms, and enterprise storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience supporting IBM Power technologies in enterprise production environments while also contributing to modernization initiatives focused on automation, observability, operational efficiency, and infrastructure reliability. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Menasha, Wisconsin, requiring onsite presence three days per week and remote flexibility two days per week. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates outside the local area. Work Schedule

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support enterprise IBM Power Systems infrastructure, including IBM i OS environments, HMC, VIOS, and IBM DS storage arrays
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex troubleshooting, performance tuning, system reliability, and infrastructure support issues
  • Manage IBM Power hardware and virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and operational stability
  • Configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot IBM VIOS environments
  • Support and optimize IBM DS storage infrastructure and storage performance
  • Design, implement, and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including MIMIX or similar HA/DR technologies
  • Drive infrastructure modernization initiatives focused on observability, monitoring, automation, and AIOps capabilities
  • Develop and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code and automation solutions using Ansible, CL scripting, and related technologies
  • Improve operational efficiency by streamlining patching, compliance, provisioning, and maintenance activities
  • Support ERP platform uptime, business continuity, and disaster recovery readiness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams to align infrastructure strategies with organizational goals
  • Provide mentorship, technical leadership, and operational guidance across the infrastructure environment
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance windows, after-hours support, system upgrades, and on-call rotations as needed

Requirements

Do you have experience in System tuning?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 4+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or enterprise platform support

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting IBM Power Systems and IBM i operating environments
  • Experience with:
  • HMC
  • VIOS
  • MIMIX HA/DR
  • IBM DS storage arrays
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization experience within enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Experience with CL scripting and infrastructure automation concepts
  • Understanding of:
  • ITIL processes
  • Incident and change management
  • Operational support best practices
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to support on-call rotations and scheduled after-hours maintenance activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Experience supporting enterprise IBM Power hardware environments in production settings
  • Experience implementing observability and AIOps initiatives for proactive monitoring and operational improvement
  • Familiarity with Fortra tools and technologies, including:
  • Alert
  • Console
  • Compliance Monitor
  • Exit Point Manager
  • Background in infrastructure security, compliance, and platform hardening initiatives
  • Experience driving automation and compliance management improvements
