Job description
The Lead Data Architect (Ontology) defines and governs the unified data model that connects Commercial, Operations, and Innovation data into one coherent structure. This role ensures the business owns its data logic and business definitions as core intellectual property, rather than outsourcing critical data meaning to external partners. You will translate how the organization actually operates into durable technical architecture-resolving entity relationships across SAP ECC, Salesforce, and a complex legacy application landscape-so downstream analytics, AI use cases, and operational systems can rely on consistent, trusted definitions. You'll be expected to make opinionated design decisions under ambiguity and collaborate with external platform partners as a peer.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience as a Data Architect, Enterprise Data Modeler, or Principal Engineer.
- Deep experience working across ERP (SAP ECC), CRM (Salesforce), and complex legacy systems.
- Strong expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and enterprise data architecture.
- Experience with master data, entity resolution, hierarchies, and data lineage.
- Proven ability to operate in ambiguous, messy enterprise environments with incomplete data and documentation.
- Strong business acumen-able to translate operations into data structures and definitions.
- Experience influencing and collaborating with external vendors/partners as an equal stakeholder. Strong communication skills with ability to align technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Benefits & conditions
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
