Job description
Horizon OS Runtime Core needs a technically strong engineer to measure and improve the OpenXR conformance of the Quest mobile runtime. OpenXR conformance has interactive parts run by QA engineers, and non-interactive parts that are automated. The candidate will work on the infrastructure and systems to improve the reliability of the automation and work with existing QA teams to improve process documentation and monitor the manual test process. The candidate will also be expected to understand the test failures, and either implement fixes or collaborate with the engineering team to fix these issues. The candidate will be the interface between the existing OpenXR runtime team and the QA testing team., * Maintain, understand, and run the interactive and non-interactive OpenXR conformance test suite.
- Capture results and logs of conformance tests for team metrics.
- Make changes to the C++/Java runtime implementation to fix conformance failures.
- Triage incoming conformance failure results from external QA teams.
- Develop improvements to the conformance testing process, update documentation, work with QA.

Unity or Unreal game engine development
OpenXR, Oculus VR, or other XR API experience
Quality assurance (QA) testing, UI testing, conformance testing
Test automation and infrastructure, * Prior experience developing Android applications using NDK and C++ (Must have)
- Some experience in developing graphical OpenGL and/or Vulkan applications for VR environments using APIs such as OpenXR. (Nice to have)
- Working with automated testing systems (Nice to have)
- Working with QA teams (Nice to have)
- Expected to navigate complex codebases. (Must have)
- Strong debugging skills (Must have)
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues., Android, Python, C++, opencv, image processing, opengl, vulkan, pytorch, javascript, unity, unreal

This is a Contract position based out of Burlingame, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
