  • You will discuss operational issues with customers to determine fault troubleshooting operations.
  • You will perform a risk analysis of information technology (IT) systems to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • You will manage the implementation of a total life cycle configuration management for an organization.
  • You will identify information technology (IT) project requirements (e.g., scope, deliverables, or other project requirements) to support customer requests and mission requirements.
  • You will lead study projects to identify and validate information technology (IT) operational requirements and priorities.
  • You will diagnose operating systems to maintain reliability of services.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (801), proficiency level (Intermediate) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies., 1. Obtain the foundational qualification within six months and the residential qualification within 6 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF work role(s) and proficiency level(s) as documented on this coding sheet. For more information, please review DoDM 8140.03 and supporting DON policies.
  1. Participate in continuous professional development program as described in DoDM 8140.03. An annual 40 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor. Continuous professional development begins in the fiscal year after the employee has obtained both foundational and residential qualification requirements.

  2. Acknowledge responsibilities in writing via command designation letter.

Requirements

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

  1. Attention to Detail - is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

  2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) IT Project Management, utilizing project schedules, 2) Capture, evaluate and manage requirements in order to recommend IT solution alternatives, 3) Identify and analyze causes of problems, and recommend courses of action, 4) Configuration Management of requirements/changes across the organization, 5) Written communications conveying written information in a clear, concise, organized, and convincing manner., Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment., In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:

  • I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR
  • I have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR
  • I have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled: OR
  • I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent., PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). To receive priority consideration, the FPL must be the same grade level or equivalent of the retained grade or the grade held immediately prior to separation.
