Job description

  • Serve as the Application engineer for automation unit that is installed with DN machines, including both DN and third-party systems (e.g., Linear Pallet Systems, Gantry Loaders).
  • Training Material Generation: Develop practical, step-by-step training materials and documentation with a heavy focus on "how-to" execution.
  • Dealer & Customer Training: Conduct technical training sessions for both dealers and end-user customers.
  • Customer Support: Provide comprehensive technical support via phone and email. Proactively author and publish new technical documents when existing reference materials are unavailable.
  • Field Support & Troubleshooting: Travel to customer sites as required to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex mechanical and automation issues.
  • Factory Liaison: Communicate with the manufacturing factory to report technical issues and request detailed technical specifications or data when necessary.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all job-related events, including technical support logs, field issues, and system improvements. Submit a monthly summary report tracking key metrics (case volume, case status, etc.).
  • Skill Development: Continuously and proactively develop the necessary skills to support emerging technologies.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, * Industry Experience: 5 to 10 years of professional experience in the machine tool (cutting) industry.

  • CNC Controls: Proficiency with FANUC controls (experience with SIEMENS is a strong plus).
  • NC Programming: Strong programming background in both Milling and Turning applications.
  • CAD/CAM: Proficiency in at least one industry-standard CAD/CAM software.
  • Machine Operation: Hands-on capability to set up and run CNC machines (managing tool offsets, work offsets, fixture installation, etc.).
  • Macro Programming: Deep understanding of macro programming, including system and macro variables.
  • PLC Foundations: At least a baseline understanding of PLCs (e.g., utilizing PLCs for alarm troubleshooting and diagnostics).

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Linear Pallet Systems (LPS) or machines utilizing Gantry Loaders.
  • Hands-on operational experience with DN Solutions (Doosan) machinery.
