Job description
The Scrum Master leads high-performing Agile teams to self-organize and deliver with excellence, leveraging AI-powered tools and data-driven insights to optimize team velocity, surface impediments early, and drive continuous improvement across client's technology teams., Include but are not limited to the following:
Delivery & Project Oversight
- Proactively monitors deadlines, ensures no slippage, and takes appropriate action to meet or exceed all target dates for technology efforts
- Leads implementation activities ensuring business objectives are met; promotes common understanding of timelines, landmarks, and reporting to align partners and team members
- Works with Product Owners and PMO to determine prioritization, funding, and allocation of resources across new and active projects
Team Metrics Creation & Management
- Owns team performance metrics end-to-end - designs, tracks, and reports on sprint velocity, throughput, cycle time, defect rates, and predictability; presents data-driven insights in sprint reviews and stakeholder forums
- Builds and maintains Jira dashboards tracking sprint health, capacity, and KPIs including commitment accuracy, escaped defects, burn rate, and team happiness scores; escalates when trends signal risk
- Drives continuous improvement through retrospective data analysis - identifies patterns in blockers and rework, converts findings into actionable items, and delivers AI-summarized status reports to all assigned projects
AI-Assisted Delivery
- Leverages AI tools to enhance Agile ceremonies and promote team AI literacy - uses summarization and pattern recognition to surface impediments, distill retrospective themes, and coach team members on responsible use of tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude and AI-assisted documentation
- Integrates AI-generated insights into backlog refinement to help Product Owners identify story gaps, surface dependencies, and estimate complexity more accurately
- Monitors AI adoption metrics across the team and stays current on emerging tools - tracks productivity and quality impact, and brings evidence-based recommendations to leadership
Agile Coaching & Facilitation
- Sets up, facilitates, and maintains all Scrum ceremonies; supports and educates Product Owners on prioritization, grooming, and backlog management
- Provides servant leadership to the team, facilitates decision making and conflict resolution, and guides teams toward self-organization using Agile methodology
- Removes impediments using trend data and AI-assisted pattern recognition to surface systemic blockers; drives transparency through metrics-based communication to keep all stakeholders informed

Requirements

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions., * Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience in IT / software development and program/project management
- 4+ years' experience as a Scrum Master in IT heavy organizations
- Demonstrated understanding of Agile SDLC models (Scrum, Kanban) and experience with Agile planning in Jira
- Agile Certification an asset (CSM, SAFe SM, PSM); AI-assisted Agile tooling experience a plus
- Demonstrated ability to design, track, and present team performance metrics across multiple concurrent squads

- Technical writing and communication skills to convey information effectively, with the ability to work across all levels including senior IT management
- Strong understanding of IT planning, reporting concepts, and policies; general knowledge of factors affecting business
- Proficiency with AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude/ChatGPT, Jira Automation) and comfort interpreting delivery data to drive continuous improvement
- Experience building and presenting team performance dashboards and metrics reports to senior leadership
- Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts as they apply to software delivery and product development
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Jira dashboards, Power BI, or similar) for team health and metrics visibility
