Job description

Raytheon is seeking a Finance Manager to lead the Defensive Systems portfolio of programs within the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) SBU. This leader will join our dynamic Strike Initiatives (SI) SSBU finance team as the lead for program area that includes EKV, NGI & RKV, as such this portfolio includes managing execution as well as some programs through close-out and/or termination. This is an atypical Raytheon Business Manager role that offers the candidate the experience to manage the portfolio requiring the typical financial products, (proposals, EACs, forecast, cash management, cost budgeting, etc), but additionally able to take on and lead program processes required of terminated programs and program close-out financial management (NGI & RKV). Recent awards provide base for long-term sustainment and viability of the EKV franchise, and long-term growth of the business area expected with strategic capture of 'GBI Next' pursuits.

In this role, a successful candidate will manage all finance related activities and must be able to think, rationalize, and make management decisions autonomously. Additionally, a candidate for this role should possess strong technical knowledge of finance and program controls, strong problem-solving abilities and good communication skills. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the financial forecasting and LRP, variance analysis, presenting at business level reviews, Estimates at Completion (EACs), settlement proposal development & supplier proposal assessments. Critical focus will be on EKV baselining and execution of newly awarded contracts, and ensure financial stability and protection of the company profitability and cash position of portfolios through close-out.

Must be comfortable working alongside senior-level program directors, as well as cross-functionally, specifically with Contracts, Supply Chain and Legal (internal and external legal representatives). This position has managerial responsibilities over several Analysts. If the selected candidate is not located in the greater Tucson, AZ area, the role will require some travel to Tucson and other customer locations on an as needed basis.

What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership and supervise a team of Analysts while working closely with cross-functional partners
  • Working closely with the customer community to execute contracts & protect the company financial positions
  • Effective management of day-to day operations while maintaining a view of long-term impact of decisions
  • Finance staffing, coaching and building team strength
  • Estimate at Complete (EAC), including program risk & opportunity management
  • Financial Forecasting/FP&A - AOP & monthly forecast development
  • Learn contractual (FAR) requirements of execution of terminated programs
  • Effectively partner with external customers to develop relationships
  • Participation and lead of program & functional business reviews to ensure financial integrity

Requirements

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Typically requires a Bachelor's and a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years experience

  • Experience leading teams of professionals
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Supply Chain, Contracts, Operations, etc.) in a matrixed organization
  • Experience performing financial analysis, such as funding profiles, sales forecasts, and variance analysis
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience supporting Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Estimate at Completion (EAC), and Long Range Planning (LRP) processes; Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) experience preferred
  • Experience incorporating contractual changes into financial control systems and maintaining cost and schedule baselines
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations and written communications to stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting established deadlines
  • Experience managing financial activities across a portfolio of programs or production environments
  • Experience preparing budgets and schedules for contract work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Experience with Agile implementation and methodology
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
