Job description
We are looking for a Tribe Release Engineer to coordinate end-to-end release management across approximately 30 squads within a fully Agile environment. The role focuses on release strategy, dependency management, continuous delivery, operational quality, and delivery predictability for the bank's digital channels. The expected work model is 50% on site and 50% homeworking. The start date is as in August., * Define and maintain the Tribe's release strategy in collaboration with the Tribe Management Team.
- Develop and manage consolidated release plans aligned with business objectives and technical constraints.
- Oversee release scopes and timelines, balancing priorities, risks, and dependencies across squads.
- Define and coordinate release calendars with other tribes and external stakeholders.
- Assess risks and define contingency plans to mitigate deployment disruptions.
- Plan, control, and execute deployments across non-production and production environments.
- Orchestrate deployment activities with DevOps, Test Engineers, and Squad Members.
- Monitor and protect production environment integrity, ensuring zero downtime and minimal risk.
- Promote configuration management best practices.
- Collaborate with Test Engineers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Architects to improve delivery predictability and quality.
- Coach and support squads in release management best practices.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing on CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, and dependency management.
- Mentor teams in risk assessment, deployment planning, and post-release validation.
- Act as a bridge between technical teams, business stakeholders, and other tribes.
- Manage external dependencies with other Tribe Release Engineers, IT teams, and third-party vendors.
- Align with business and IT leaders to ensure releases meet strategic and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate release status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
- Resolve conflicts in priorities or timelines to support on-time, high-quality deliveries.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Release Management or similar roles such as DevOps or Deployment Manager.
- Strong knowledge of Release Management and Configuration Management.
- Strong knowledge of version control, environment management, and rollback strategies.
- Experience with release orchestration, including application packaging, runbooks, and release pipelines or workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Maven, Git, SVN, Ansible, Docker, Nexus, and CDD.
- Experience in large enterprise environments with complex IT landscapes and multiple stakeholders.
- Background in digital transformation projects, including scaling Agile and modernizing legacy systems.
- Hands-on Agile experience in squads, tribes, or scaled Agile frameworks.
- English proficiency.
