Full-Stack Developer (Data & AI)/Fluent Dutch speaking/570 Euros

In this role, you will work on the digital media applications of the future, conducting state-of-the-art analyses on artificial intelligence and new media experiences. You will develop innovative digital tools and formats, exploring generative AI and interactivity within the online offering. Best of all, you will work on exciting projects with a real social impact-what you build will be seen and used by a massive audience., * Implementation & Prototyping: Work within the Data & AI team to implement and test prototypes, proofs-of-concept, and final products developed. You will be fully capable of building a prototype from scratch as well as maintaining a live product.

• Generative AI Focus: Work primarily on Generative AI (Gen-AI) projects, actively helping to shape the future of VRT's digital product lineup.
• Code Quality & Best Practices: Write and document clean code that complies with the development team's quality standards and best practices.
• Innovation & Tech Scouting: Keep a close eye on industry trends and external technologies, testing their maturity and translating these developments into concrete recommendations for the business.
• Process Optimization: Evaluate existing production workflows, challenge current technologies/methods, and propose creative ideas to optimize how the team operates.
• Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Work actively across functional teams rather than in silos. Share your work and insights transparently, invite feedback early, and constructively contribute to team problem-solving.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience, ideally within a media context.
• Agile Mentality: Proven experience working in an Agile environment within a production setting. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and an evolving technical landscape.
• Analytical & Pragmatic: Strong analytical skills to synthesize information and draw conclusions. Highly pragmatic and results-oriented-focused on solutions that actually work in practice, not just in theory.

Core Technical Skills

• AI Expertise: Solid understanding of how AI works, with specific knowledge of various generative AI models and how to apply them when deploying prototypes.
• Backend & Frontend: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, and web frameworks like React, Next.js, and NestJS.
• Databases: Familiarity with both SQL and noSQL databases.
• DevOps & Cloud: Basic knowledge of CI/CD and familiarity with AWS managed services (a plus).
• Python: Knowledge of Python and Python-based AI agent frameworks is a distinct advantage.
