AI & Digital Solution Architect

You are a hands-on architect and senior engineer within our Digital Innovation & BIM team - part of Digital Operations at Gas Services Solutions. You shape how ambitious ideas become real digital products: from breaking down requirements into solid solution architectures, to actively building, shipping, and scaling them with a small, high-impact team. A core part of your role is taking solutions from proof of concept to robust, production-grade reality - leveraging GenAI-assisted development (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to accelerate delivery. Beyond delivery, you contribute your architectural perspective to the strategic digital direction of Gas Services Solutions, helping to prioritize where AI and digital innovation create the most value.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Translate ideas into solution architectures - break down application concepts and business requirements into actionable technical designs, defining the right stack, components, and integration patterns for robust and scalable solutions
• Bring solutions from PoC to production - take promising prototypes and professionalize them into production-ready systems by hardening architecture and ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability
• Drive hands-on development end to end - actively contribute across the full stack, working side by side with a small team of digital and AI experts, and independently setting up components such as ETL pipelines, APIs, or full applications when needed
• Leverage GenAI-assisted software engineering as a core development accelerator - use tools such as GitHub Copilot to scale development velocity and focus engineering effort on architecture, solution quality, and business value
• Build and integrate modern AI solutions - apply concepts such as prompting, RAG, agents, and multi-agent interactions to deliver real business impact, with a focus on integrating AI rather than developing foundational models
• Shape and deliver our AI lighthouse cases - contribute to flagship initiatives such as the AI Scheduler, AI Bid Manager, and AI Project Controls, taking Gas Services Solutions business execution to the next level
• Own the engineering foundations - establish and maintain DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and Infrastructure as Code on our hyperscaler environments (AWS and/or Azure)
• Co-shape the strategic digital direction of Gas Services Solutions - contribute your architectural perspective to the digital roadmap and help prioritize high-value AI and digital initiatives

• Several years of senior-level experience as a solution architect, software architect, or senior full-stack engineer - combining architectural thinking with strong hands-on delivery, including a proven track record of taking applications from PoC into productive use
• Strong full-stack development skills - modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React) and backend languages (e.g., Python), plus solid understanding of REST API design and modern application architectures
• Hands-on experience with hyperscalers (AWS and/or Azure), Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform), and containerized solutions (Docker, ideally Kubernetes)
• Solid DevOps and CI/CD experience and strong proficiency with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows
• Experience with databases across paradigms - SQL, NoSQL, additionally graph databases (a plus)
• Practical understanding of modern AI concepts: prompting, RAG, agentic AI, multi-agent systems, and agent interaction patterns, with a focus on integrating AI into real applications
• A strong drive to stay at the state of the art in GenAI-enabled code generation - continuously exploring new tools and practices, and setting new standards for how our team builds software
• Familiarity with Siemens Energy's enterprise architecture (key systems, interfaces, integration landscape) is a strong plus
• Strategic mindset paired with a strong operational drive - you enjoy shaping direction and getting things done
• Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus
