Job description
We are seeking a Data Processing Engineer to join an established engineering team supporting data processing systems. The candidate will support the team across a range of activities depending on evolving priorities. Work may cover system maintenance, validation and engineering support tasks., Depending on operational priorities, the successful candidate will:
- Investigate and resolve anomalies in data processing systems;
- Support software release, deployment and verification activities;
- Contribute to integration, verification and validation (IV&V) of processing chains;
- Perform testing and validation of system performance;
- Support system-level analysis and engineering tasks as required;
- Produce and maintain technical documentation in a configuration-controlled environment;
- Participate in technical reviews, coordination meetings and engineering boards, Financial Support for your relocation expenses and Administrative support from our relocation agent to ease the move. When necessary we support also the Visa application to live and work in Germany.
Requirements

University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline;

Demonstrated experience with UNIX/Linux environments;

Experience with scripting languages and/or databases (e.g. Python, shell, PostgreSQL);

Proven experience with data processing of Earth Observation or meteorological products (Level-0, Level-1, Level-2);

Proven experience in integration, verification and validation (IV&V) of data processing systems and/or processors, including test plans, specifications, procedures and reports for end-to-end processing chains;

Ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation;

Practical knowledge of configuration-controlled environments;

Fluency in English; Person attributes

Experience in system engineering and system design;

Knowledge of spacecraft and/or ground segment operations; Technical environment

Knowledge of computer systems, network systems and IT security;

Experience with programming languages (e.g. C/C++, Java, IDL); Process & quality

Knowledge of quality control, calibration and validation;

Experience with development and maintenance of operational procedures and/or configuration data;

Knowledge of ECSS standards; Tools & methodologies

Experience with DOORS;

Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and related tools (e.g. SysML, Enterprise Architect)
