Job description

  • Play a key role in building control systems for quantum computers
  • Take a leading role in the integration and debug of FPGA based sub-systems within the quantum computer control framework
  • Implementation of RTL level designs for blocks/sub-systems/FPGAs from high-level requirements
  • Take ownership of blocks/sub-systems/FPGA level specifications and architecture
  • Generate comprehensive documentation required for design, verification and integration
  • Gain exposure to a diverse range of engineering sub-disciplines
  • Develop a proficient understanding of quantum computing control systems and concepts
  • Participate in multidisciplinary collaborative projects (ASIC/Mechanical/Software/Electronics/Physicists)

Requirements

Do you have experience in Shell Scripting?, The 3 Most Critical Attributes We'll Use to Compare Candidates:

  • Experience of implementing and debugging complex RTL designs
  • Hands on experience of electronics system integration of FPGA/ASIC based functions within a larger control system, including the use of standard lab-based analysis and debug tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-functional team

Must-have Skills:

  • Degree or equivalent - Electronics / Computer Science
  • 8+ years of experience in high performance digital design
  • Comprehensive experience of RTL design, implementation and verification (FPGA or ASIC)
  • High-level of understanding of electronic circuit design (Digital/Analogue)
  • Experience of high-performance communication protocols (Ethernet/PCI/Serdes/etc)
  • Knowledge and understanding of HW/PCB design and implementation (schematics/layout/testing/debug)
  • Thorough understanding and experience of common lab-based test and analysis equipment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work autonomously, setting priorities and delivering to schedule
  • Competency in scripting languages (Python/Tcl/Shell)

Nice-to-have Skills:

  • Previous experience of both FPGA and ASIC design flows
  • System-level design/architecture experience
  • Understanding or previous experience in high performance DSP
  • Previous experience in embedded software/embedded systems design
  • In-depth experience in PCB design
  • Background in Physics, including quantum technologies
