Job description
- As a SoC Simulation Engineer in Virtual Platforms, your primary responsibility is to create accurate and efficient functional models for simulating System-on-Chip (SoC) designs.
- You collaborate closely with software teams to gather essential inputs, enabling early-stage development even before physical silicon is available.
- Additionally, you play a crucial role in diagnosing and resolving issues observed in firmware by analyzing simulation results.
- Furthermore, you actively promote the adoption of virtual platforms within the company, emphasizing their benefits for accelerated development and efficient collaboration., To support fair and authentic hiring practices, candidates are not permitted to use AI tools (such as transcription apps, real-time answer generators like ChatGPT or Copilot, or automated note-taking bots) during interviews.
These tools must not be used to record, assist with, or enhance responses in any way. Our interviews are designed to evaluate your individual experience, thought process, and communication skills in real time. This position may require access to technology and/or software subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). As such, applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled information as defined under applicable law. Marvell may be required to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce and/or the U.S. Department of State. Requirements
Do you have experience in SoC?, Do you have a Master's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and at least 5-10 years of related professional experience.
- Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3-5 years of experience. Other majors may be considered if you have enough knowledge or experience in this area.
- Working knowledge of Python and C++. You also need a fundamental understanding of firmware and software architecture.
- Willing to learn. During your first few months, you'll be coming up to speed on our technology and tools. You'll be learning the ins and outs of Virtual Platforms and our System-on-Chips. Even after you've been here a while, you'll be constantly learning new things because we are on the absolute leading edge of technology.
- Collaborative with your teammates. We have a great culture here. People help one another and share knowledge.
- While not mandatory, experience with existing simulator technologies such as Virtualizer, Simics, QEMU or gem5 is desirable.
- Experience in computer architecture (ARM and/or RISC-V architecture) is highly valued.
