Job description

Franck is looking for his Data Engineer to strengthen the R&D teams. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines in line with global IT standards, supporting the integration of digital tools from concept through to launch. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal data quality, security, compliance, and accessibility.

You will be responsible for:

  • Accelerate the Data & Digital strategy for R&D
  • Inventory existing data (sources, quality, usage, limitations)
  • Implementing data quality and validation checks to guarantee accuracy and reliability
  • Map, structure, and govern R&D data
  • Design and evolve the data architecture
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver high-impact solution
  • Working closely with the IT/OT team and business teams
  • Understand industrial, scientific, and business data
  • Translate scientists' data requirements into datasets for model and algorithm development
  • define data architecture and providing technical support and guidance to team members on data-related matters
  • Define the roadmap for data
  • Specifically regarding data ingestion, cleaning, staging, harmonization, and utilization of data to support new insights in R&D
  • Contribute to high-value use cases: AI, data science, simulation, Power BI
  • Participate in innovative Proof of Concept (POC) and Proof of Value (POV) projects
  • Design, prepare, qualify and model the data, carrying out necessary cleansing
  • Manage the data lifecycle and define industrialization strategies
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance
  • Implement quality controls and rules
  • Ensure secure and compliant data management at all stages to minimize risks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience required in data engineering
  • Fluent English
  • Starting from July 2026, * Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems management
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in data engineering
  • Good understanding of Research & Development (R&D) functions, their processes, and the data generated throughout the information lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data modelling
  • Familiar with best practices in data governance, compliance, and security
  • Ability to work in a project-based environment with clear deliverables, proactively seek out information, understand user needs, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Fluent in English with professional experience in an industrial & international environment and able to communicate deliverables and results effectively to a range of stakeholders
  • Proficient in these tools:
  • Data Processing: Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Beam, Databricks
  • Data Orchestration: Apache Airflow, Prefect, Luigi
  • Data Storage: Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Delta Lake
  • Programming Languages: Python, Scala, Java, R, SQL
