Job description
As IT Operations Engineer at Road, you are the backbone of day-to-day IT. You make sure our 145 employees have everything they need to do their best work, whether they are in the office or working remotely.
You handle first-line support, manage hardware and software, and own the onboarding and offboarding process end to end. Beyond the daily rhythm, you actively contribute to process improvements, documentation, and the kind of structured work that makes IT more scalable over time.
You will work closely with our IT Support Analyst and IT Team Lead in a small, tight-knit team where everyone knows what is going on and covers each other naturally. There is real ownership here, and room to grow into it.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Provide first-line technical support to employees, resolving issues across hardware, software, and collaboration tools efficiently and with a good user experience in mind.
- Own and execute onboarding and offboarding processes, including access provisioning and deprovisioning via Okta and Google Workspace.
- Configure and support systems including Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace, Okta, SentinelOne, and Jira Service Management.
- Perform routine patching, endpoint updates, and periodic access control reviews to keep our environment secure.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date IT documentation, including SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and our internal knowledge base in Confluence.
- Spotting where automation would save the team hours, and designing scripts to make it happen. Whether you write them yourself in PowerShell, Bash, or Python, or work with AI tools to get there, is your call. We care about the outcome.
- Supporting our ISO 27001 and 27002 work by enforcing security policies, helping with access reviews, and feeding into our ISMS.
- Monitoring SentinelOne for incidents and keeping endpoints patched and protected.
- Keeping our meeting rooms and shared office tech running, since on-site colleagues depend on them every day.
Requirements
Do you have experience in macOS?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 2 to 4 years of experience in IT support, IT operations, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, including device compliance, app deployment, and configuration profiles.
- Working knowledge of an identity and access platform such as Okta or Microsoft Entra, including provisioning, group-based access, and SSO.
- Confident troubleshooting across both Windows and macOS, including the peripherals, networks, and collaboration tools that come with them.
- Experience with a ticketing system (Jira Service Management ideal) and the discipline to log work properly.
- Practical scripting sense. You can identify where automation would help the team and design what a script needs to do. Whether you write it from scratch or build it with AI tools is your call.
- A documentation reflex. You assume future-you, a teammate, or a colleague will need the trail you leave behind.
- Curiosity. You ask "why is this happening" before "how do I fix it".
- Proactive ownership. When you see a recurring ticket pattern, you write the Confluence article without being asked.
- Clear, empathetic communication in English, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical colleagues.
- Comfortable with the on-site nature of the role at our Amsterdam HQ.
Nice to Have
- Experience with networking fundamentals.
- Practical scripting experience in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience supporting audit or certification processes.
