Job description

We're partnering with a highly respected membership-based organisation to recruit an experienced IT Data Engineer & Analyst for an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative internal IT team during a major transformation programme involving Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and modern data services.

This role offers a broad, hands-on remit across data engineering, reporting, automation, and platform improvement. It would suit someone who enjoys working across multiple technologies in a delivery-focused environment rather than operating solely at a strategic or architectural level.

The Opportunity

The organisation has an established Microsoft Power Platform environment, with extensive use of:

  • Dynamics 365 CE & Customer Insights
  • Dataverse
  • Model-Driven Power Apps
  • Power Automate
  • Power Pages
  • Microsoft Fabric & Power BI

As part of a wider transition to a managed service provider, the successful candidate will help support migration activities while also driving interim improvements to data quality, analytics capability, integrations, and reporting structures.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Quality

  • Assess current data structures and implement improvements
  • Support data governance, security, and compliance controls
  • Contribute to data cleansing, verification, and retention initiatives
  • Assist with API integrations and data connectivity across multiple platforms
  • Support MSSQL and MySQL/MariaDB environments

Reporting & Analytics

  • Upgrade and migrate Power BI reports into Fabric/PBIP formats
  • Develop reporting solutions that improve visibility of business metrics
  • Integrate and analyse additional data sources across the organisation

Automation & Platform Improvement

  • Develop and enhance Power Automate cloud flows
  • Improve underlying data structures to support enhanced analytics and future AI capability
  • Collaborate on practical platform enhancements across the Microsoft ecosystem

Project & Migration Support

  • Support ongoing platform migration activities
  • Assist with testing, documentation, and data verification
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers

Requirements

We're looking for someone with strong technical capability combined with a collaborative, adaptable approach.

Essential Experience

  • Strong experience across data platforms, modelling, transformation, and reporting
  • Advanced Power BI development skills
  • Solid understanding of SQL and database concepts
  • Experience integrating data via APIs, dataflows, and connectors
  • Experience improving and optimising data quality across multiple systems
  • Knowledge of data protection and cybersecurity best practices

It's highly desirable , you have Microsoft Fabric experience, Dynamics 365 CE exposure with wider Microsoft Power Platform experience , experience with Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and experience migrating or modernising reporting environments

If you're a practical, hands-on data professional looking for a varied contract role within a modern Microsoft environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Benefits & conditions

As this is an urgent requirement the client can only accept candidates within 1 week notice or immediately available. This contract is for 6 month - paying £320p/d inside IR35
