Job description

As a Workday Finance Manager - Reporting, you will be instrumental in guiding clients through their finance transformation journeys, focusing on the design, development, and optimisation of Workday Financials reporting. You will work on both advisory- and delivery of projects, helping clients define their solution architecture reporting requirements, streamline end-to-end processes, and leverage Workday technology to achieve maximum business benefits and ROI.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the intake, triage, prioritisation, and resolution of Workday Financials reporting requests, defects, and enhancements across finance-related modules and reporting domains.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain Workday Financials reports and dashboards for all Workday functional areas, including advanced report types, calculated fields, prompts, filters, and data sources, with a focus on financial data accuracy, usability, and performance.
  • Gather reporting requirements from client stakeholders, translating complex finance and accounting business needs into robust technical solutions and providing recommendations to address reporting issues and data challenges.
  • Lead reporting workstreams, coordinating priorities, tracking deliverables, identifying risks, and supporting testing and deployment activities for report changes and Workday releases.
  • Troubleshoot reporting and data issues through root-cause analysis across Workday Financials configuration, security, business processes, and effective-dated transactions, documenting findings and resolutions.
  • Provide knowledge, insight, and support for data migration activities, demonstrating a strong understanding of Workday transactional data flows.
  • Manage stakeholders using clear communications and form strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable expertise in designing, building, testing, and maintaining Workday Financials reports and dashboards.
  • Strong ability to gather reporting requirements from client stakeholders and translate finance/accounting business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience leading reporting workstreams, coordinating priorities, and managing deliverables.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting reporting and data issues within Workday Financials.
  • Good understanding of Workday transactional data flows and experience supporting data migration activities.
  • Experience designing and/or implementing ERP systems.
  • Possess good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan and deliver the scope and deliverables of a team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk in relation to ERP delivery projects.
  • Experience of at least two end-to-end Workday implementations.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Ideally, Workday Reporting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the current state of automation, continuous integration/deployment, and cloud-based delivery models.
  • Comfortable discussing technical issues with business stakeholders and business issues with technical teams.
  • Ability to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences and craft compelling messages tailored for a given audience.
  • Demonstrated business domain and/or industry knowledge.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams and clients.
  • Effective cross-functional project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with a focus on translating business requirements into information models.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and self-direction.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services.
