Job description

As a practitioner in AI & Data, you will be responsible for leading and delivering data management initiatives on client projects. You will devise innovative solutions to help our clients address their biggest data challenges, focusing on establishing robust data governance frameworks, improving data quality, managing data migrations, and implementing effective master and metadata management strategies.

You will design, implement, and maintain comprehensive data management solutions, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and compliance across various systems and platforms. In your role, you will have responsibility for deliverables and client stakeholder relationships and will be delivering solutions for our clients using agile methodologies. You will often be working in multi-disciplinary teams across a range of industries, subject matters and locations including close coordination with offshore and nearshore delivery teams such as Cairo.

Our projects vary greatly and your responsibility will differ based on your level, experience and the focus of the client engagement, but could include and may require you to:

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders and internal teams to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive data management strategies and solutions.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of Data Quality frameworks, processes, and tools to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of critical data assets.
  • Oversee and manage complex Data Migration projects, including strategy development, planning, execution, and post-migration validation, ensuring minimal disruption and data integrity.
  • Develop and implement Metadata Management strategies and solutions, including data cataloguing, business glossaries, and data lineage tracking, to enhance data understanding and governance.
  • Drive the implementation and ongoing management of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, defining master data domains, data models, and synchronisation processes across enterprise systems.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, datasets, and data models to support analytics, reporting, and operational systems.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in data management, continuously exploring and evaluating new technologies and approaches.
  • Optimise data processing, storage, and retrieval for scalability, efficiency, and compliance.

Requirements

Candidates must have experience in some or all the following areas:

  • Hands-on experience in developing and deploying comprehensive data management solutions in a professional setting.
  • Designing, implementing, and managing Data Quality programmes, including data profiling, cleansing, validation, and monitoring.
  • Executing Data Migration projects across various source and target systems, including defining migration strategies, data mapping, transformation, and reconciliation.
  • Metadata Management tools and practices, including data cataloguing, data lineage, and business glossary development.
  • Implementing and managing Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, including defining master data models, governance processes, and data synchronisation.
  • Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Programming: Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, or similar languages relevant to data manipulation and scripting.
  • Data Engineering: Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop). Experience with ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and automated workflows for moving and processing data.
  • Data Governance: Strong understanding and practical experience with data governance principles, policies, security, and privacy standards throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services is desirable.
  • Familiarity with data modelling techniques (e.g., dimensional, relational) and data architecture principles.
