Job description

Insight Global is seeking an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to support mission-critical systems within the C5 division for one of our largest federal clients. This role will focus on developing and integrating Linux-based embedded software solutions that interface directly with advanced hardware platforms and real-time systems., Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux software applications using C/C++ -Work within Linux-based and real-time operating system (RTOS) environments to build mission-critical solutions -Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineering teams to define and implement hardware/software interfaces -Develop and customize Linux distributions, kernel modules, and device drivers -Support board bring-up activities and integration of software on embedded hardware platforms -Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis across software and hardware layers

Requirements

The ideal candidate has strong experience in embedded Linux environments, low-level programming (C/C++), and system integration, with the ability to contribute across the full lifecycle-from design and development to hardware/software integration and testing., Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field -4-8+ years of experience in embedded software development in Linux environments -Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for low-level and systems development -Experience working with embedded Linux systems (kernel, drivers, or BSPs) -Familiarity with hardware/software integration in embedded environments -Secret Clearance
