Job description
- Work with other applications engineers, internal sales and/or customers to formulate project material and engineering estimates and final designs for customer applications
- Perform piping, equipment, and other take-offs from mechanical piping isometric, plan, elevation, and general arrangement drawings
- Work in Nelson Design Suites software to evaluate application requirements and create optimized designs and circuit layouts
- Work with project Leaders and other designers to produce technical drawings required for proper installation and documentation of the heating system
- Ensure all application designs meet applicable electrical standards and codes
- Understand Ohm's Law, basic electrical engineering fundamentals, and perform simple low voltage electrical calculations
- Follow all Emerson safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements
- B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other applicable industrial technology experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of electrical or piping work experience
- Must successfully plan and complete assigned projects independently and/or in a team environment within agreed timelines
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation
- Must have computer competency and software experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), and PDF editing software, * Heat trace application / design engineering experience (1-3 years)
- AutoCAD or similar drafting experience (1-3 years)
- Software experience with Bluebeam Revu
- Knowledge and understanding of hazardous location standards NEC/CEC/IEC/ATEX/IEEE
- Industrial piping / plant experience
- Industrial electronic controls / PLC experience, Emerson will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
