Clearance Requirements

  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with an active polygraph. Both the clearance and polygraph need to be fully adjudicated. Interim clearances will not be accepted.

(BVTI) is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) that is looking to identify a motivated and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our high-caliber team supporting our federal customer in the Intelligence Community. The work is challenging and offers an environment that is filled with great opportunities and for professional growth. This high-profile, long-term contract lends support to the technical environment required to securely support the customer's needs in the acquisition process. The ideal candidate will provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of all IT systems in a Windows and Linux environment. Support will include day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem-solving resolutions for the customer's systems. The Systems Engineer will also configure, manage and install/load operating system software while continually troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, configuring network components, and implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance., * Experience implementing security-related software patches in response to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) issued through the DoD information system.

  • Monitor and manage user access to various IT resources.
  • Configure and install various IT systems (e.g., Red Hat 7, CentOS, Windows Server 2019, Security Center, Nessus, WSUS, Netbackup, and BigFix).
  • Configure and manage high availability systems (e.g., Windows Hyper-V, Xendesktop, Stratodesk, and MySQL database replication).
  • Maintain the security posture of IT systems using Security Center/Nessus suite while following NIST STIGs and guidelines.
  • Continually coordinate with and support the administration team from everything from accomplishing daily tasks to scheduling and implementing installations, upgrades, patches, maintenance and troubleshooting in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure integrity of data recoverability by performing regular system backups, file transfers, and offsite backup transportation, storage, and retrieval services.
  • Provide setup and troubleshooting of desktop/server peripherals (including software and OS) and ensure customer satisfaction by quickly resolving time-sensitive problems and documenting resolutions.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ is strongly preferred.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Cybersecurity experience and/or credentials.
  • Any of the following certifications would be a plus:
  • CompTIA Linux+ Certification
  • CompTIA Security + Certification
  • CompTIA Network + Certification
  • CompTIA A+ Certification

The anticipated pay range for this position is $175,000.00 - $210,000.00 USD.

Salary Statement: The salary listed above serves as a general guideline; however, BVTI considers various factors when setting a base salary, including but not limited to the scope of responsibilities and the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, contractual requirements, and work location.
