Job description

Desktop Support Technician | Location: East Syracuse, NY | Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | On-Site We are seeking well-rounded Desktop Support Technicians with solid networking experience to join a growing HyperCare support team. In this role, you will primarily provide telephony-based technical support for specialized hardware devices and assist with a major technology upgrade rollout - moving users from a legacy software version to a newer platform. What You'll Be Doing You will serve as the first line of support for end users experiencing issues with specialized devices and Windows-based systems. Responsibilities include remote troubleshooting via tools such as TeamViewer and Bomgar, following standard operating procedures for post-install support, coordinating with vendors to drive issue resolution, and assisting with hands-on hardware support and depot-level work as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a help desk, call center, or technical support role
  • Proficiency in Windows environments including Control Panel navigation, Active Directory, and user account/permissions management
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals - IP addressing, LAN/switch patching, and structured cabling
  • Ability to navigate Cisco Meraki for network diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with remote support tools such as TeamViewer or Bomgar
  • Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and depot-level device support
  • Strong ability to identify multiple points of failure and work methodically toward resolution
  • Nice to have: experience in healthcare IT, enterprise environments, or structured cabling

What We Look For in Candidates

  • A natural problem-solver who can think on their feet and juggle multiple open issues without dropping the ball
  • Someone who takes ownership - you don't wait to be told twice, and you follow through until the issue is closed
  • Clear, professional communicator who can translate technical issues into plain language for non-technical end users
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable in a structured on-site environment
  • A team player who collaborates well with vendors, colleagues, and end users alike
  • Comfortable with change - this role supports an active technology rollout, so adaptability is key

Soft Skills Strong communication, reliability, the ability to multi-task, and a customer-first mindset are essential to success in this role.
