Job description
As a Shipboard IT (SBIT) Specialist at BPMI, you will be in a project-oriented position responsible for the oversight, development, deployment, and remote support of custom software used in the administration, operation, and maintenance of nuclear reactors. In this position, you will collaborate closely with fleet customers and suppliers to manage agile software development and deliver new capability for fleet facing applications., * Modernize shipboard processes through the creation and deployment of new or updated shipboard applications used daily by ship's force.
- Focus on project management/contract follow through of shipboard applications.
- Collaborate with supplier and fleet stakeholders in real time to develop user experience improvements to shipboard software.
- Work in a truly Agile environment using modern work planning tools to obtain agreement to requirements and execute work (Jira/Azure DevOps).
- Performproject oversight and follow of supplier design, supplier testing, and supplier procedure development.
- Providewritten technical support to end users to troubleshoot and resolve network or software functional issues.
- Conductindependent verification of operation and troubleshooting procedures.
- Performproject oversight of the installation of software products at end destinations.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or closely related degree from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience. An advanced degree may be considered in lieu of one year of experience.
- Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Experience with any of the following is preferred:
- Agile software development methodology.
- Azure DevOps or Jira/Confluence.
- User Experience/User Interface design.
- Software development.
- Oracle database management.
- Demonstrated ability of effective written and oral communication skills, project management, and creative problem-solving capabilities is strongly desired.
