Job description

Monitor data or infrastructure system networks for various messages, alarms, or issues. Identify issues or problems and resolves as appropriate; escalates when necessary. Troubleshoot problems using scripts and standard, routine procedures; escalates as appropriate. Initiate resolution as appropriate for enterprise level routers and switches. Interface with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance. Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI's) as directed by management. Maintain required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other basic network security requirements. Support special projects and day-to-day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead Support on-call rotation schedule

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years of related experience, additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Expert knowledge with LAN switching, including Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), VLAN Trunk Protocol (VTP), Port Security, Spanning Tree, and Layer 2 and 3 switching configurations.
  • Expert knowledge with Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc.) and best practices on implementation.
  • Expert knowledge with with L1/L2 network troubleshooting (Unclassified and Classified.
  • Expert knowledge of DoD network and application security hardening requirements.
  • Experienced with programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting encryption devices at network points of presence including management via GEM-X or other DoD management tools.
  • Experienced with DoD COMSEC management processes and procedures.
  • Currently possess an Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Holds an active CompTIA Security +CE or CCNP Security certification
  • Holds a CCNA Certification
