Job description
The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for administering, supporting, and optimizing enterprise-scale relational and NoSQL database environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and scalability across production and non-production systems while supporting modernization and cloud migration initiatives. Database Administration & Support Administer, monitor, and support Oracle, MongoDB, and DynamoDB environments Manage installations, upgrades, patching, backups, recovery, and replication Ensure availability, reliability, and security across environments Implement database standards, policies, and best practices Database Design & Architecture Design scalable, high-performance relational and NoSQL architectures Create logical and physical data models Optimize schemas, indexing, partitioning, clustering, and storage Support distributed and microservices-based data architectures Database Migration & Modernization Lead database migration initiatives from legacy platforms Perform schema conversion, data migration, validation, and cutover planning Support cloud migration and modernization efforts Work with migration tools and ETL/data integration processes Performance Tuning & Optimization Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks Tune SQL, PL/SQL, execution plans, and indexing strategies Optimize MongoDB aggregations, sharding, and replication Improve DynamoDB partition key design, throughput, autoscaling, and cost Monitor database health using performance tools High Availability & Disaster Recovery Configure and maintain: Oracle RAC and Data Guard MongoDB replica sets and sharded clusters DynamoDB global tables Develop, test, and validate backup and recovery procedures Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity readiness Cloud & Automation Support AWS database services and infrastructure Automate administrative tasks using scripting tools Integrate database operations into CI/CD pipelines where applicable Collaboration & Governance Partner with application developers, architects, DevOps, and security teams Participate in database design and code reviews Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory standards

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
