Job description

  • Lead performance tuning and optimization across Windows Server environments, including CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network utilization
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system performance bottlenecks using advanced troubleshooting methodologies
  • Design, implement, and support highly available, scalable Windows-based infrastructure solutions
  • Manage and optimize Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), including domain controllers, replication, authentication flows, and directory performance
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for production incidents, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal business impact
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventative measures to improve system reliability
  • Optimize Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP for performance and scalability
  • Collaborate with application, database, and cloud teams to ensure end-to-end system efficiency
  • Support hybrid cloud environments (Azure/AWS), including workload migration, performance tuning, and cost optimization
  • Automate administrative and operational tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools
  • Maintain system monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning strategies
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational standards

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience administering and engineering Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
  • Strong expertise in system performance tuning and troubleshooting at the OS and infrastructure level

Deep knowledge of:

  • Windows internals (processes, threads, memory management)
  • Performance monitoring tools (PerfMon, Resource Monitor, Sysinternals, etc.)
  • Active Directory Domain Services, including domain controllers, replication, FSMO roles, and Kerberos authentication
  • DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy design and optimization
  • Hands-on experience managing domain controllers, including:
  • Replication troubleshooting and latency resolution
  • AD site topology design and optimization
  • Authentication performance tuning (Kerberos/LDAP)
  • Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for AD
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, latency, throughput, load balancing)
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, SolarWinds, SCOM)
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot across infrastructure layers (compute, storage, network)
