Finance, Data Entry Purchasing Accounting Procurement Order Entry Supply Chain, This Order Entry Specialist role operates in a custom job shop environment where each order is unique and requires careful compilation of detailed information, including parts, coverings, and finishes. You will accurately enter and manage orders in an ERP system, support internal teams and customers, and help ensure that customized roller products meet precise specifications. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a mechanical aptitude to understand product composition and verify that all specifications are correct., * Answer and route incoming calls, providing proactive and friendly assistance to customers and sales representatives.
- Share receptionist duties with other members of the order entry team as needed.
- Enter customer orders into the ERP system accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all required details are complete.
- Create purchase orders, obtain necessary approvals, and confirm pricing with vendors.
- Follow up with vendors regarding order status to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Verify that purchase orders and packing slips match and that all related data is accurate and complete.
- Organize office workflows and paperwork, and oversee tasks related to month-end closing activities.
- Work closely with the production team to support accurate order entry and alignment with manufacturing requirements.
- Handle highly specific, tailored, and customized orders with precision and care.
- Go to the shop floor when needed to discuss orders directly with plant staff or the sales/representative team.
- Support order processing and order fulfillment activities to maintain smooth operations.
- Use email and related tools to communicate order details, updates, and clarifications with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Detail Oriented Microsoft Excel Problem Solving Microsoft Office Order Processing Order Fulfillment Microsoft Outlook Critical Thinking Month-End Closing Workflow Management Mechanical Aptitude Written Composition Organizational Skills Artificial Intelligence Critical Illness Insurance Enterprise Resource Planning, * 3+ years of order entry experience in a similar environment.
- Proven experience with order entry and data entry, with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Hands-on experience creating and managing purchase orders.
- Experience with order processing and order fulfillment workflows.
- Proficiency with Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working within an ERP system.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude to understand roller composition and product specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Epicor ERP is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is a plus.
- Customer service experience in a business or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory-related processes.

Benefits & conditions
This is a full-time, on-site position with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., operating on a single shift across all teams. The first floor houses the six-person order entry team in an open, cubicle-style office setting, Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Wood Dale, IL. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
