Job description

  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboards for stakeholders across the Accounting & Finance department.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial and operational reports using SQL and Excel
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with finance leadership to understand analytical needs and deliver timely, accurate insights.
  • Contribute to the identification of data points that could enhance AI-driven initiatives, without requiring deep AI specialisation.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders, supporting data-led decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across reporting frameworks.
  • Proactively identify and deliver reporting improvements to increase efficiency and impact..

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Data Analyst role, ideally within a retail or e-commerce setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Expert-level Excel skills, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data visualisation.
  • A practical, results-oriented mind-set capable of delivering insights in a dynamic environment.
  • An understanding of how data contributes to broader business objectives, including AI-driven strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively, providing valuable analytical support without the need for extensive corporate governance frameworks.
  • Comfortable commuting to Gillingham (Kent) for a minimum of three days per week.
  • A track record of identifying and communicating key data trends and business implications.
