Job description

Azure Architect - IAAS/PAAS - Glasgow - Inside IR35

You will work across programmes to assess application hosting needs, define landing zone patterns, and design secure, scalable Azure solutions spanning infrastructure, networking, identity, security, and platform services.

This role is ideal for a strong infrastructure or cloud architect who can translate complex requirements into practical, deployable Azure architectures and standards.

Essential Experience

  • Strong track record designing Azure architectures for business-critical workloads
  • Deep knowledge of IaaS (compute, storage, networking, identity, backup and DR)
  • Solid understanding of cloud security fundamentals (IAM, segmentation, encryption, monitoring, vulnerability management)
  • Ability to translate requirements into clear architecture outputs (patterns, standards, and designs)
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable

  • Experience modernising Legacy estates and advising on migration strategies (rehost, refactor, replatform, rebuild)
  • Knowledge of DevOps and platform engineering concepts (CI/CD, IaC such as Bicep/Terraform, governance and guardrails)
  • Experience working in regulated or critical national infrastructure environments
