Job description

  • Manage and develop a high-performing Network Operations team
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and collaboration

Own the Network Estate

  • Take full responsibility for a large-scale Cisco Meraki environment (MX, MS, MR)
  • Drive performance, resilience, and scalability across all services
  • Lead network upgrades, deployments, and lifecycle management

Deliver Modern Connectivity

  • Shape and support hybrid cloud networking in Azure
  • Oversee WAN, LAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and wireless environments
  • Ensure seamless connectivity across a geographically distributed estate

Drive Innovation & Automation

  • Introduce and expand automation (PowerShell / Python)
  • Reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency
  • Move towards infrastructure-as-code principles

Strengthen Security & Compliance

  • Work closely with security teams on Cyber Essentials Plus & ISO 27001
  • Oversee firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and secure access controls
  • Support audits, risk management, and incident response

Lead Key Projects

  • Own technical delivery of network projects including:
  • Site deployments
  • Connectivity transformations
  • Telephony rollouts (VoIP/SIP)
  • Platform enhancements

Requirements

  • Strong leadership experience managing technical teams
  • Proven background in enterprise networking (multi-site environments)
  • Deep expertise in Cisco Meraki (essential)
  • Experience with Azure networking and hybrid environments
  • Solid knowledge of network security, SD-WAN, VPNs, and routing/switching
  • Exposure to automation tools and scripting
  • Ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects end-to-end

Certifications such as CCNP, Meraki, or Azure Network Engineer are a bonus - but practical experience matters most.
