Job description

We're Hiring: Data Architect (Databricks) Up to £120,000 base (DOE)

UK-based | Travel required when needed - UK offices & Client sites

Are you a Databricks expert who thrives on designing modern data platforms that actually drive business impact? We're looking for a Data Architect to join a growing consultancy delivering cutting-edge Lakehouse solutions across the UK.

This is a high-impact role where you'll combine hands-on architecture, client engagement, and thought leadership to shape enterprise-scale data & AI programmes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design and deliver end-to-end Databricks Lakehouse architectures across ingestion, processing, and analytics
  • Partner with clients early in their journey to define scalable, future-proof data strategies
  • Lead architecture engagements and ensure delivery meets performance, security, and cost objectives
  • Optimise and troubleshoot solutions for efficiency and scalability
  • Champion data governance, quality, lineage, and cataloguing (Unity Catalog/Purview)
  • Build and embed CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps
  • Contribute to reusable architecture frameworks and best practices

Pre-Sales & Strategic Influence

  • Shape solutions alongside sales teams to solve complex data & AI challenges
  • Lead technical input into RFPs/RFIs and client proposals
  • Present architectural designs to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence
  • Build PoCs to demonstrate the power of Databricks and accelerate decisions

What You Bring

Strong experience delivering enterprise-scale Databricks solutions Deep knowledge of Lakehouse architecture (Delta Lake, Spark, PySpark) Expertise in data modelling (Kimball, Data Vault, 3NF) Experience integrating with Power BI/Tableau Solid programming skills (Python, SQL, Scala) Hands-on with Azure, AWS, or GCP Strong stakeholder communication and consulting mindset
