Job description
The candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment working closely with other engineers and technicians in a lab-like environment to integrate, test, and troubleshoot software/hardware systems in complex IT systems.
Roles and Responsibilities will include:
- Provide software, hardware, and system support to on-site end-users as well as engineering technical support for teams.
- Support the IPT with software defect resolution and enhancement efforts.
- Engineer and test new technical solutions in lab environments, technical requirements and/or bug fixes
- Develop and maintain Microsoft PowerShell scripts, Bash and Python scripts, and Microsoft Group Policies
- Work with storage systems and basic networking, Solaris 10 and 11, Oracle OEM, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, VMware ESXi, Vmware, and vCenter
- Maintain COTS Hardware, Software configuration matrix, technical installation, configuration, update and release procedures, and automate installation of COTS software
- Documenting and maintaining system configurations and compatibility with existing architectures when implementing system enhancements
- Design and implement VMware high-availability virtualized infrastructures
Requirements
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is looking for a Principal or Sr. Principal Computer System Architect to join our team in Palmdale, Ca . The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct., * Principal Electronics Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related engineering experience.
- Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a relevant STEM discipline and 4 years of related engineering experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8140 approved IAT Level II (or higher) compliant certification. Examples include: CCNA Security, Security +CE, CCNP, and CISSP. This certificate must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Demonstrated experience with Windows and Unix operating systems
- Demonstrated experience with VMware
- A U.S. Citizen with Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance OR active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Ability to obtain and maintain initial Special Access Program (SAP) access via a Program Access Request (PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
Note: SAP/PAR will be upgraded once selected candidate is in role. Therefore, candidate must also be able to obtain and maintain upgraded SAP/PAR.), * Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Benefits & conditions
Primary Level Salary Range: $11,400.00 - $171,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
