Job description
Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server database solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. Write and tune complex queries, stored procedures, and indexes to support high-volume applications. Analyze execution plans and resolve bottlenecks impacting system performance. Partner with application teams to ensure efficient data access patterns and strong data design. Support production environments by troubleshooting data issues and maintaining data integrity. Mentor team members and help drive database standards and best practices, while tracking work through JIRA.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a SQL Developer / Database Developer
- Deep expertise in SQL Server:
- Schema design and data modeling
- Complex query development
- Stored procedures, views, functions
- Indexing strategies and performance tuning
- Strong experience analyzing and optimizing large-scale, high-volume data environments
- Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues (execution plans, query bottlenecks, indexing, etc.)
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable and highly available database solutions
- Strong understanding of data integrity, normalization, and relational database concepts
- Experience supporting production environments and resolving data-related issues
- Strong experience working in Agile environments (JIRA)
- Ability to mentor junior developers and enforce database best practices
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Azure SQL or cloud-based data platforms
- CI/CD pipelines for database deployments
- Exposure to ETL/data movement processes
- Experience with data integrations and API-connected data flows
- Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (App Insights, Splunk, Grafana)
- Experience in regulated industries (healthcare preferred)
