Nokia of America Corporation, Software Quality Assurance Engineer (Multiple Positions), Sunnyvale, CA. Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of the life cycle of the software feature including requirements review, test planning, test execution and debugging of the failures, and test automation.
- Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes.
- Create sophisticated test plans to identify software problems and causes and verify conformance of feature functionality against requirements specifications.
- Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
- Create and maintain databases of known defects.
- Execute feature test cases by simulating complex scenarios to identify, debug and track defects and recommend corrective action.
- Interact with Software, Hardware, Firmware, Product Management, Documentation, and Customer Support teams.
- Provide estimation and prioritization of execution of test cases and coordinate test activities.
- Design and develop scripts and new libraries to automate the execution and verification of features.
- Provide measurable input into new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of business strategies.
- Analyze, develop and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert. #LI-DNI
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's progressive related work experience. Or a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following:
- Scripting and Automation using Tcl or Python;
- Writing detailed test plans, identifying tools requirements, documenting failure scenarios, and isolating problems; Networking protocols including TCP, UDP, IP, and DHCP;
- Routing protocols: BGP and OSPF;
- Virtualization platforms: OpenStack, Azure, and AWS; Linux Systems;
- Wireshark; and
- Analyzing messages sent and received between network elements and debug issues.
