Job description

Verdantas is seeking a Senior GIS Analyst to support and advance our Wingspan enterprise GIS platform. This role will be responsible for managing and analyzing spatial data, developing GIS applications, and delivering actionable insights that drive business and project decision-making.

This individual will play a key role in scaling Wingspan as an enterprise tool, guiding internal teams on GIS best practices, and supporting both technical delivery and business development initiatives. What You'll Do:

  • Manage and analyze spatial data to support various projects and decision-making processes
  • Develop and maintain GIS applications, databases, and data integration processes
  • Create and deliver maps, visualizations, and reports to communicate spatial data insights
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand GIS needs and provide analytical support
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security through rigorous quality control processes
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in spatial data to provide actionable insights
  • Develop and implement GIS best practices and standard operating procedures
  • Provide technical expertise and support to team members and stakeholders
  • Drive the development, enhancement, and enterprise-wide integration of the Wingspan GIS platform across business lines in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Lead GIS-related projects end-to-end, managing timelines, deliverables, resources, and alignment with scope, budget, and quality expectations
  • Support internal and external business development and proposal/RFP efforts by contributing GIS expertise, technical narratives, and identifying opportunities to leverage Wingspan capabilities to win and expand client work

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional GIS experience
  • Advanced experience with GIS tools (e.g., Esri ArcGIS, web GIS, spatial databases)
  • Demonstrated experience developing, configuring, and scaling GIS applications
  • Project management experience, including managing timelines, budgets, deliverables, and cross-functional resource coordination across concurrent projects
  • Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders to translate business needs into GIS solutions and workflows
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience contributing to proposals, RFPs, or technical narratives in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Proven ability to support business development efforts, including client-facing discussions, scope development, and identifying opportunities for GIS-driven solutions
