Job description

Kforce has a client in Parsippany, NJ that is seeking an AI Platform Engineer., The AI Platform Engineer will design and develop scalable AI workflow orchestration systems on Microsoft Azure. This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on designing and building production-grade AI automation systems in a regulated operational environment., * Design and implement scalable workflow orchestration platforms using technologies such as Temporal, Azure Durable Functions, Camunda, or similar tools

  • Build long-running, fault-tolerant workflows for underwriting, onboarding, fulfillment, and operational processes
  • Develop durable execution patterns including retries, checkpointing, recovery, and asynchronous coordination
  • Architect event-driven systems using: Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, APIs, distributed messaging patterns
  • Develop highly scalable distributed AI execution infrastructure
  • Architect and deploy cloud-native solutions using: Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) , Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Cosmos DB, API Management, Key Vault
  • Implement secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure patterns
  • Build AI-enabled workflow systems leveraging: LLM APIs, AI agents, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Tool orchestration, Human-in-the-loop workflows
  • Integrate AI services into operational lending processes
  • Build secure, scalable, and highly available AI infrastructure patterns
  • Support model deployment, evaluation pipelines, prompt management, and lifecycle governance
  • Integrate orchestration workflows with LOS platforms, CRMs, document processing and extraction systems, and third-party APIs
  • Build extensible service layers around existing lending infrastructure
  • Implement monitoring, telemetry, logging, and workflow observability solutions

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering or platform engineering experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Strong experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
  • Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as: Temporal, Camunda, Azure Durable Functions
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following: TypeScript, Python, Go, C#
  • Experience with: Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
  • Experience integrating APIs and microservices

Preferred:

  • Experience with AI/LLM platforms and orchestration frameworks
  • Familiarity with: LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, OpenAI SDKs, MCP architectures
  • Mortgage or lending technology experience preferred
  • Experience in regulated enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with operational workflow automation and business process systems
  • Strong systems-thinking and architecture skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast-moving environments
  • Comfortable balancing experimentation with production reliability
  • Passion for AI-native operational automation and workflow engineering

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
