Job description
The Engine Integration Department is looking for a collaborative and driven engineer to support our team focused on supporting advanced emissions programs in response to EPA& CARB emissions vehicle requirement updates. Our goal is to integrate PACCAR's advanced engine portfolio into our various vehicles through systems engineering thinking & ownership of engines by bringing together a single powertrain system that functions as one.
You will have the opportunity to make a great contribution to the direction and completion of our engine and emissions programs. You will get the opportunity to explore, innovate, and have the freedom to generate ideas. As a team, we will ensure the success of engine and emissions programs for Paccar.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Assist In the Direction, Analysis, And Detailed Design of Components as a part of an Advanced Emissions Program
- Translate Customer Requirements into Powertrain and Engine Technical Requirements
- Lead Packaging Studies Between Our Engines and Vehicle Platforms
- Develop Vehicle Impact Analysis Reports & Lead Open Issues to Resolution
- Create And Lead Engine Supplier & Internal Engineering Meetings for Key Engine Programs
- Provide Direction and Consultation to Our Engine Suppliers on Engine Revisions Required to Integrate Engines into Our Vehicle Models
- Utilize Creo/Pro-E To Create Optimized Assemblies
- Complete Work Related to Engineering Goals, Regulation Changes, Plant Liaison Requests (PLRs), Field Service, And Option Approval Request (OAR) Support.
- Learn And Utilize PACCAR And Industry Systems to Manage a Product Implementation
- Learn And Integrate Design for Six Sigma Engineering Practices into Our Projects
- Network And Work Closely with Multiple PACCAR Divisions Around the Globe
- Travel Required Up To 10%
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of industry experience required
- Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineer or a Related Degree, EIT Or PE Is a Plus
- Proficiency With PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Related Software
- Proficiency In Use of Creo Parametric or Other Similar Solid Modeling Software Managing Large Complex Assemblies
- Familiarity With Project Management Methods & Tools
- Demonstrated Use of Established Engineering Processes & Techniques & Being Resourceful in Solving Complex, Sometimes Ambiguous Technical Problems
- Demonstrated Team Player with Ability to Work with or Lead a Diverse Set of Stakeholders & Manage Multiple Tasks Concurrently
- Willingness To Grow Personally and Professionally, Ready to Learn and Make Use of New Engineering Processes and Techniques
- Design for Six Sigma, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt is desired
- Industry Related Background in The Design Specification of Heavy Duty Trucks or Engine Development Is a Plus

Additional Job Board Information
At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for the Project Engineer - Engine Installation is $100,100 - $156,600 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
