Job description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager is in a full-time exempt position responsible for creating and managing the implementation of development strategies that raise awareness of MSP and increase financial support for both operations and capital projects.

Specific Responsibilities:

This position manages the planning, execution, and delivery of development strategies and projects, ensuring they align with and achieve organizational goals. It manages the development team, data-driven strategy, resources, and timelines while fostering an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions:

· Design and oversee implementation of data-driven development strategies that bring about awareness of the MSP ministry and grow its financial support

· Oversee campaigns and activities such as appeals, special events, and social media campaigns that will fund operations and capital projects, and participate in solicitation activities of board and advisory council members and/or the Executive Director as needed

· Research fundraising trends, and collect and analyze MSP revenue data to inform strategy development

· Manage grant activities to include coordination with a grant writer, facilitating report submissions to grantors, and overseeing spending of grant funds to ensure compliance with grantor requirements

· Coordinate the participation of Board members and other volunteers in annual campaigns, special events, and general development activities

· Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with existing and prospective donors

· Solicit opportunities for and deliver presentations to potential and existing funders to include businesses, churches, and community civic groups to share information about the MSP ministry

· Manage the donor database to record gifts, acknowledge donations, and document interactions with donors

· Administer marketing and public relations efforts, including creating and producing an annual report, newsletters, press releases, articles, and social media posts to support the program and fundraising activities and to inform donors of the impact of their gifts

· Maintain the websites for My Sister's Place and My Sister's Resale Boutique

· Provide regular written and verbal updates for the Executive Director and the Board, reporting on progress of development goals; participate in board committee meetings

· Be knowledgeable of the North Georgia philanthropic community, including the foundation funders

· Ensure the quality of development team activities and goal achievement, making certain they align with MSP core values and are valuable contributions towards the growth of the ministry

· Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track

· Foster a culture of innovation, promoting Biblically aligned practices, and encouraging new methodologies that advance development efforts

· Provide godly leadership, mentorship and motivation to the development team that fosters a collaborative and productive work environment that demonstrates MSP core values

· Perform other related duties as requested to ensure program success

Requirements

Do you have experience in Teamwork?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, These are minimal qualifications which may be interchanged for other, stronger experience and training.

· A healthy, growing relationship with Jesus

· A four-year college degree, preferably in communications-related field

· Five years of fundraising and marketing experience with a nonprofit organization with demonstrated success raising annual funds through campaigns and special events

· Working knowledge of social media platforms and how they are best used for donor engagement

· Demonstrated analytical and fundraising skills with the ability to recognize opportunities, identify critical, high pay-off activities and prioritize them to attain goals

· Experience in homeless advocacy, women's ministry, etc., is a plus

· Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire others

· The ability to identify and solve problems, making sound decisions

· Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills

· Demonstrated engagement in community or volunteer work

· Highly organized approach to work with strong self-directed follow-through on tasks and goals

· Demonstration of a positive attitude, showing concern for people and community and conveying presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability

· Donor-centered approach with commitment to excellent customer service

· Strong computer skills, in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; and donor database software (preferred)

· A self-starter; able to work both independently and as a team

· Strong collaborative skills and team spirit to achieve common goals

· Openness to new ideas and their implementation; ability to react and adapt to changing situations appropriately

· Strong relational skills, able to create and sustain beneficial relationships internally and externally
