GNC System Engineer - Early Career - Dallas, TX

We are seeking a Guidance and Control (GNC) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting missile system and fire control system design, development, integration, and test., * Design, develop, and deploy embedded algorithms that perform inertial tracking, inertial navigation, sensor fusion, flight control, and/or guidance

• Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
• Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
• Opportunities will exist to join small teams of engineers and algorithm developers on a variety of different programs that are in various stages of product development.
• Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers. Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar STEM degree. -Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment -Familiarity in SW development environments like Git using programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C++, FORTRAN, or Ada. -Solid foundation in linear algebra, dynamics, coordinate frame transformations, and state estimation techniques -Demonstrated ability to perform one or more of the following GNC or Modeling/Simulation assignments based on completed coursework or professional experience: Guidance algorithm development, autopilot development, inertial tracking algorithm development, servo controller development, 6DOF vehicle model and simulation development. Desired Skills: -Experience using a Linux-based operating system -Familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systems -Experience integrating and testing hardware and software in Hardware In-the-Loop (HWIL) -Prior experience supporting flight tests -Ability to occasionally travel for up to two weeks at a time to White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico to support flight tests. Experience in air and missile defense, development, and testing is required. -Experience with different simulation and test environments (6-DOF IFS, HWIL, flight test experience, etc. Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years, Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
