Job description
As a Principal Solutions Architect, you will collaborate with IT, Operations, and business stakeholders to lead the development of comprehensive technical solution architectures for highly complex and high-risk IT initiatives (valued between $1 million - $20 million). You will own the full lifecycle of solution delivery-from initial architecture capability assessment and strategic planning through solution design, stakeholder communication, and implementation guidance for delivery teams.
What will you do?

Conduct comprehensive capability assessments of current architectural state and evaluate business strategy, requirements, and technology options to identify optimal solution alternatives aligned with business sponsor objectives

Develop end-to-end technical solutions that integrate enterprise architecture strategies, account for environmental constraints, and assess solution viability against program timelines, budgets, and quality standards

Serve as the primary technical authority on programs, directing all activities related to solution architecture development and capability management * Collaborate across functional teams (data, security, infrastructure, development, etc.) to ensure complete capture, definition, and communication of all solution architecture components

Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and partner groups through diverse engagement and collaboration approaches from initiation through closure

Lead group sessions ranging from small workshops to large forums for technical architecture reviews, strategic decision-making, and collaborative problem solving
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (computer science, mathematics, engineering, etc.) or equivalent professional experience in solution architecture * Minimum 10 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years leading solution architecture on large-scale projects

Extensive background across diverse technologies and architectural approaches (e.g. J2EE, .NET, cloud, mid-range systems, vendor packaged solutions, multi-technology platforms, workflow systems, SOA, data analytics, security, etc.)

Proven leadership capabilities demonstrated through experience managing complex technology integration initiatives and directing large cross-functional technical teams

Outstanding communication abilities to translate, visualize, and explain sophisticated concepts to varied audiences spanning technical and business stakeholders
Nice-to-have

Background in the financial services industry, specifically securities brokerage operations, or consulting experience

Advanced degrees, active involvement in IT industry organizations, or exceptionally diverse technical background

Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing cloud-based architectural solutions

Background in mobile technology architecture, big data analytics design, or transactional systems development

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $90,000 - $160,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
