Job description
- Support and complete scheduled data center Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) including device labeling and power connectivity.
- Install and route low voltage copper and fiber optic cabling according to design standards and schematics.
- Perform hardware installations, including racks, switches, and server components, ensuring proper cable management.
- Complete hardware support work orders involving troubleshooting, break-fix, and cabling certification.
- Maintain a safe and secure operating environment by adhering to strict site security protocols and badging requirements.
- Provide smart-hands assistance for network and server hardware deployments within specified timelines.
- Conduct physical inspections of the data center for general health, identifying potential power or cooling hazards.
- Document all technical tasks and asset movements accurately within daily work logs or ticketing systems.
- Coordinate with project managers on equipment delivery schedules and installation priorities.
Requirements

The Data Center Technician supports the physical infrastructure of mission-critical facilities, focusing on hardware installation, structured cabling, and day-to-day operational tasks. This role is ideal for candidates with six months to a year of experience in low voltage work who are flexible with site assignments and project start dates., * 6 months to 1 year of experience in low voltage cabling and data center environments.
- Must be able to clear the AWS badging process, which includes a comprehensive background check through Accurate.
- Ability to work flexible day shifts ranging from 8 to 10 hours.
- Willingness to work at both the Fort Worth and Mansfield, TX data center locations as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Flexibility regarding project start dates and potential schedule changes.
- Basic knowledge of server and network hardware components and infrastructure best practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for the duration of an 8 to 10-hour shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
- Must be comfortable working at heights, off of ladders, and in confined or restricted spaces.
- Manual dexterity for repetitive tasks such as cable termination and hardware assembly.
- Ability to see and distinguish different colors for cable and wiring identification.
- Capable of working in environments with exposure to dust and variable temperatures typical of data centers.
