Job description
The Plant IT Hardware Support Engineer is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and support of hardware and operational technology within a fast-paced fresh food manufacturing environment. This role ensures the reliability and performance of physical systems that support production, warehouse operations, and plant business functions.
This position partners with plant leadership and Corporate IT to maintain stable, secure, and efficient hardware infrastructure across the facility.
Responsibilities
Hardware & Device Support
- Deploy, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, tablets, and handheld devices
- Install and support plant hardware including workstations, printers, label printers, and warehouse scanners
- Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Monitor and optimize hardware performance and reliability
Operational & Plant Systems
- Support hardware components of plant systems including RedZone, Pick-to-Light, labeling, and scanning systems
- Provide device-level support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and related systems
- Ensure proper functionality of production and warehouse technology
User Support
- Provision and configure hardware for new hires and existing employees
- Support user access, device setup, and system connectivity
- Troubleshoot login, device, and peripheral issues
Facility Technology
- Maintain and support hardware systems such as security cameras and access control systems
- Troubleshoot network-connected plant equipment and warehouse devices
- Troubleshooting & Escalation
- Respond to and resolve hardware and technical support requests
- Escalate complex infrastructure or system issues to Corporate IT as needed
- Asset Management & Documentation
- Track hardware inventory and lifecycle of IT assets
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and issue resolution
- Work Schedule & Availability
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed to support plant operations
- Serve as the primary on-call resource for hardware-related issues, including after-hours support for production-impacting incidents
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, * 0-3 years of experience in IT support, hardware engineering, or similar role
- Manufacturing or warehouse environment experience preferred
- Knowledge of computer hardware, devices, and peripherals
- Experience with Windows operating systems and device configuration
- Familiarity with network-connected devices and troubleshooting
- Understanding of user account management and system access
- ERP (D365) or manufacturing systems experience (not required, but a plus)
- Strong hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Hands-on, detail-oriented approach to technical support
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests
