Job description

The company is seeking Electrical Power System Technicians with strong technical skills and field experience to support major data center projects nationwide. The primary responsibility is to perform new installation visual, and mechanical, and electricalinspections of medium voltage (MV) gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and low voltage (LV) switchboards, along with supporting commissioning and troubleshooting tasks. This role requires extensive national travel and the ability to work independently in fast-paced data center construction environments., + Conduct detailed visual and mechanical inspections of newly installed MV GIS switchgear and LV switchboards.

  • Ensure installations meet manufacturer requirements, project specifications, and industry standards.
  • Produce detailed reports including inspection checklists, photographs, and technical documentation.
  • Support commissioning activities including device configuration, testing, andissue resolution.
  • Perform troubleshooting on control wiring as needed.
  • Collaborate with contractors, OEM representatives, and project managers to resolve installation or configuration issues.
  • Follow strict electrical safety practices (OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Infinity TSD safety procedures).
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate project records.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams while representing Infinity TSD professionally., + Low voltage (208V - 600V) circuit breaker primary injection testing, troubleshooting, & maintenance
  • Medium voltage (2400V - 35KV) cable terminations, splices, acceptance and maintenance testing (VLF, Tan Delta, Partial Discharge)
  • Medium voltage transformers acceptance and maintenance testing (Power Factor, Winding Resistance, Turns Ratio, SFRA )
  • Medium Voltage (2400V - 35KV) acceptance and, You will be eligible for 2 weeks of paid vacation annually, based on average weekly hours in addition to company- recognized holidays and any other leave in accordance with company policy. EQUIPMENT AND APPAREL Company uniforms: Company provides proper PPE including flame resistant shirts/pants, steel toe shoes. Typically one week supply of shirts and pants will be provided, or allowanceprovided Safety apparel: PPE will be provided, allowance for work boots provided. TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES TO PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT Paid flight to Business Location: Flight to business location will be arranged by company. TRANSPORTATION TO AN FROM WORKSITES Travel will be required often. Travel and expenses will be consistent with company policies. Employee will either have a company vehicle or be transported by another employee. Employee will be provided with a company credit card to use for business purposes only. HOUSING Employer will cover housing for the first 3 months. A review of housing accommodations will be conducted following 3 months. Employee must sign a housing rule and abide by it. Any travel costs for work will be covered by the company for hotel, transportation, meals allowance/reimbursement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with medium and/or low voltage electrical power distribution equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in field environments.

  • Willingness to travel nationally over 80% of the time.

  • Valid driver's license and the ability to pass background and drug screening requirements. Preferred Skills & Experience Protection & Control / Automation:

  • Experience working with SEL protective relays, including using acSELerator to install settings files.

  • Experience with SEL RTAC configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with basic PLC configuration, including downloading, uploading, and troubleshooting programs.

  • Ability to troubleshoot Modbus and Modbus TCP/IP networks for industrial communication devices.

  • Familiarity with IEC 61850 GOOSE messaging and troubleshooting. Power Distribution Equipment & Systems:

  • General knowledge of medium voltage switchgear construction, installation, startup, and troubleshooting.

  • General knowledge of low voltage switchboards (UL 891) construction, installation, startup, and troubleshooting.

  • General knowledge of low voltage circuit breakers, including power circuit breakers and molded case circuit breakers.

  • Ability to interpret and implement circuit breaker trip unit settings, including reading coordination studies and adjusting settings.

  • General knowledge of electrical power meter setup, including IP address configuration., + 5+ years' experience in commissioning Electric power distribution Equipment, particularly médium voltage switchgear and low voltage switchboards and circuit Breakers. Experience with SEL relays and RTAC controllers including Setup using SEL's software.

  • Is the worker required to supervise other workers? No.

  • Criminal Background Check? Yes, selected applicant must pass a CBC before departure from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. CBC will be conducted through the recruitment company.

  • Drug Test? Yes, selected applicant must pass a DT before departure from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. The DT will be conducted through the recruitment company.Panel/Perfil 10: AMP , BAR, COC, THC, OPI, PCP , BZP , MTD, MDM, PPX, NIT, OXC, 6AM, CREA, PH, HYD. Cannabis: Positive test is not aceptable.

  • English Level Requirement: Medium - advanced, job duties require reading drawings, schematics, notes in drawings, email correspondence, on site conversations with customers.

  • Drivers license required: Yes, must be able to have/get a US valid driver license. An International Drivers Permit/license might be needed. As field engineers/technicians, work is 100% on customer sites No international travel at this time. There will be a per diem or corporate credit card to cover traveling expenses.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or closely related field

  • Physical requirements: Job requires traveling to customer facilities, climbing stairs, ladders, walking over uneven terrain, lifting test equipment and materials typically no more than 50lbs.

Benefits & conditions

  • Overtime: Overtime will be paid 1 and ½ rate. Up to 10 hrs. of expected OT
  • Workweek: Schedule changes by project, since we are working on customer locations and on their schedules, work can change from days to nights and is not predictable.
  • Shifts: There is no shift work, it is dependent on scope of work and customer site schedules.
  • Is there a shift premium? Premium is paid for working beyond 40 hours in a week or working on company recognized holidays. On company paid holidays Technicians receive 8 hours of paid time off. If they happen to work on the holiday, they will receive 1.5x pay rate and will also still receive 8 hours of pay.
  • Extra days? Extra days are often expected, but unknown as it depends on the project.
  • Weekends: Anticipating most of this work to be weekdays. But, it depends on the project.
  • Payment Days: Fridays
  • Payment Type: direct deposit.
  • Rest Breaks: yes, Employee will be eligible to participate in the company's benefits program, subject to the terms and conditions of each plan after a 30-day probationary period.
