Job description

A Client of Insight Global is looking for a Remote Sr. Network Engineer to support their team. The ideal candidate will support the design, deployment, and integration of multi-cloud and hybrid network architectures across AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-premises environments. This role involves implementing secure, high-performance connectivity solutions (e.g., Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and Cloud Interconnect), driving infrastructure automation, and optimizing network performance across cloud and data center environments. Responsibilities include defining technical requirements, developing implementation plans, and architecting Zero Trust-aligned solutions to meet federal cybersecurity standards. The candidate will monitor and troubleshoot systems, create technical documentation, evaluate technologies such as Cisco, Palo Alto, F5, and AWS networking services, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission objectives, business continuity, and disaster recovery initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelors and 8 years of experience OR no degree and 12 years of experience

  • 7+ years designing and implementing secure AWS-based solutions in enterprise or government environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Infrastructure automation and scripting tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, or similar.

  • Deep knowledge of federal compliance frameworks including DISA STIGs, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust Architecture.

  • Strong expertise in WAN/LAN/VPN services, multi-cloud governance, and identity/access management

  • Public Trust Eligible - Experience supporting federal contracts

Benefits & conditions

Compensation: $50/hr. -- 62/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
