Job description
- Lead identification, assessment, selection, and integration of cyber technologies, platforms, and toolsets that support a mission engineering-focused cyberspace integration strategy for MDA sponsors.
- Develop and mature cyber platform integration frameworks, processes, reference architectures, and implementation roadmaps that improve delivery of trusted and resilient mission systems.
- Provide technical leadership across system, software, cyber, and mission stakeholders to align integration efforts with operational mission needs, system requirements, and sponsor priorities.
- Evaluate existing and emerging capabilities for cybersecurity, cyber survivability, resilience, monitoring, automation, and platform interoperability within complex defense environments.
- Translate mission objectives into technical integration approaches spanning enterprise architecture, system interfaces, data flows, security controls, and operational workflows.
- Guide the application of cybersecurity engineering principles across the system lifecycle, including concept development, design, integration, test, evaluation, deployment, and sustainment.
- Support trade studies, technical analyses, risk assessments, and recommendations related to cyber platform modernization, toolchain integration, and mission assurance.
- Collaborate with government, FFRDC, contractor, and cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues and drive adoption of integrated cyber solutions.
- Contribute to the development of briefings, technical papers, architecture products, implementation plans, and decision support materials for senior technical and government leadership.
- Mentor less experienced staff and help shape technical approaches that strengthen the division's cyber integration capabilities and sponsor impact.
Requirements
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting integration of cybersecurity technologies, platforms, or toolchains within complex DoD, national security, or other highly regulated mission environments.
- Experience with systems engineering and architecture development for multi-system or enterprise environments, including requirements analysis, interface considerations, and technical trade studies.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity engineering concepts such as cyber resilience, secure architecture, defense-in-depth, zero trust principles, vulnerability management, and security control implementation.
- Experience with modern platform and engineering practices such as DevSecOps, automation, continuous integration and delivery, cloud or hybrid environments, virtualization, containerization, or related technologies.
- Ability to assess technical risk, synthesize complex findings, and communicate clear recommendations to technical teams and government stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in Colorado Springs, CO to support sponsor engagement, collaboration, and program execution.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance., * Master's degree or PhD in cybersecurity, systems engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency programs or related air and missile defense, command and control, sensor, weapons, or mission engineering environments.
- Experience integrating cyber capabilities across classified, operational, or mission-critical systems with stringent performance, reliability, and security requirements.
- Familiarity with Joint Publication 3-12, Joint Cyberspace Operations, NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-160, Risk Management Framework, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, DoW cybersecurity policies, security technical implementation guides, and assessment and authorization processes.
- Experience with cyber test and evaluation, adversary emulation, threat-informed defense, red/blue/purple team collaboration, or cyber survivability analysis.
- Experience developing reference architectures, implementation patterns, and transition strategies for enterprise cyber platforms or mission systems.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-organizational technical initiatives and influencing adoption of new methods, tools, or architectures without direct authority.
- Strong written communication skills for development of sponsor-ready briefings, technical reports, and decision-support products.
- Experience with developing and presenting technical presentations to Program Director or SES-Level Stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning use-cases to enhance and accelerate cyber platform integration to deliver capability at the speed of operational need.
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
