Job description
Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelors in Science OR 3+ years of relevant experience with a Masters in Science degree
- Active Secret clearance at the time of application
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Strong scripting abilities (Python / Bash).
- Familiarity with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible).
- Knowledge of software delivery frameworks such as DevOps, ITIL, or CMMI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong communication - translating technical policies for non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to Manage artifact repositories, ensuring proper versioning and retention policies.
- Familiarization of automated provisioning of dev/test/staging environments using Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Proficiency with Git (including rebasing, cherry-picking, sub-modules).
- Familiarity with other VCS (SVN, Perforce).
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkinsfile, YAML DSL).
- Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, other).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (K8s).
- Familiarity with ITIL change management or DevOps release processes
- Attention to detail - every version tag must be traceable
- Understanding of branching models (GitFlow, trunk-based)., * Relevant SCM experience in Radar
- Prior leadership experience
- Highly proficient with the tools listed under Basic Qualifications
- Experience supporting the SCM role in SQA and customer audits, such as Physical and Functional Configuration Audits (PCA/FCA)
- Build Management experience, including creating Software Version Descriptions (SVD), Software Development Plan (SDP) and other deliverables
Benefits & conditions
Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
