Job description
The Data Specialist is responsible for the coordination of data management systems, instructional technology, and the compiling and reporting of data.
The Data Specialist must have the ability to perform the following essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Administer and support the Student Information System, including Skyward Qmlativ, ensuring data accuracy, system integrity, and optimal performance.
- Configure and maintain system settings for scheduling, grading, attendance, and course management aligned to career and technical education programming.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for staff and administrators for SIS-related functions, including gradebook, scheduling, and course selection.
- Provide training, documentation, and ongoing support to staff on all data systems and best practices for data entry and system use.
- Manage all aspects of Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS) reporting, including data collection, validation, submission, verification, and certification within required timelines.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and coordinate corrections with staff to ensure accurate reporting.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data across all school systems through regular audits and validation processes.
- Design, manage, and maintain integrations between systems including Schoology, JobReady360, Follett Destiny, Securly Pass, IEP Writer, and ParentSquare.
- Support compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and other applicable data privacy regulations.
- Provide reports and data extracts to support leadership needs and federal reporting.
- Assist staff with troubleshooting and proper use of digital instructional tools and maintain documentation for troubleshooting procedures.

- o Perform system troubleshooting across a multi-platform, multi-vendor environment and resolve data-related issues.
- o Maintain documentation for systems, integrations, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Assist with overall IT Department functions including related Help Desk request, record keeping, inventory.
- Develop and implement automated processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce manual data entry, and increase data accuracy.
- Assist with evaluation of emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system integration, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiency.
- Support initiatives related to data use, system improvement, and instructional technology integration within the school environment.
Requirements
Do you have experience in User training (technical support)?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
- IT / Data management: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- additional certification in an IT field (Preferred)
