Job description
The Senior Systems Engineer reports to the Technical Operations Manager and plays a key role on our collaborative team. You will provide both remote and onsite support for PCs, servers, networking equipment, firewalls, and desktop applications across a wide variety of small to medium-sized organizations.
This role serves as an escalation point for complex technical issues. You will handle everything from routine desktop support to advanced server, network, and cloud infrastructure challenges. You will work directly with clients of all technical levels and act as a mentor to junior technicians. This position is based at our Houston, TX headquarters., Core Technical Support:
- Provide IT support for internal systems and client network infrastructure
- Perform remote and onsite hardware and software installations
- Support Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Azure, etc.)
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V)
- Handle network-level support including WAN/LAN, routers, firewalls, and security solutions
- Administer self-hosted and cloud-based solutions
- Support disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, StorageCraft, Acronis, etc.)
- Manage remote access technologies (VPN, Remote Desktop Gateway, Azure Virtual Desktop)
- Monitor system alerts and respond promptly through service tickets
- Administer and maintain our remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform
- Maintain detailed documentation for client systems and infrastructure
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding incident status, upcoming changes, and outages
Additional Responsibilities:
- Continuously improve customer satisfaction and service delivery
- Work escalated issues and projects that require advanced expertise
- Mentor and support junior technical staff
- Contribute to the design, maintenance, and enhancement of internal systems and customer-facing cloud environments
- Document internal processes and procedures
- Stay current with emerging technologies through continuous learning
- Drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
Requirements

- Managed Services Provider (MSP) experience is highly preferred
- Professional IT certifications preferred: Microsoft (MS-900, MS-100, MS-101, AZ-900, AZ-104), SonicWall CSSA, Meraki ECMS, Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP, Security+, or similar
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Excellent diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
