Job description

This position is responsible for the design, support, implementation, and management of all EHR systems throughout Journey Health System. Other administrative duties apply, including, but not limited to: budgeting, cost containment, policy and procedure development, supervising EHR support staff, and strategic planning., Duties the employee is required to perform that have a major impact on the delivery of services to our clientele:

  • Direct supervision and management of the daily functions of the department. Which includes:
  • Interviewing and hiring new staff.
  • Ensuring that new employee and annual evaluations are thorough and given in a timely manner.
  • Effecting any necessary employee comments and dismissal action in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources.
  • The training of new employees and on-going on-the-job-training with all staff.
  • Reviewing all time sheets to ensure they are properly filled out and submit them in a timely manner for staff assigned to his/her department.
  • Scheduling staff working hours and assigning staff to areas to provide adequate coverage within the Agency's requirements without previously authorized overtime.
  • Periodic direct observation of staff performance and providing feedback to staff on their performance.
  • Documentation of EHR system processes
  • Documentation of EHR setup and configuration
  • Design and customization of EHR interfaces
  • EHR frontline end user support
  • Prioritizing and processing of EHR related help desk tickets in an efficient and timely manner
  • Troubleshooting EHR related issues
  • Interacting with EHR support services
  • Training of end user's on EHR
  • Training of support staff on EHR core modules
  • Generating end user training materials
  • Developing checklists and proper procedures for manual tasks
  • Performing application layer system maintenance (permission changes, etc.)
  • Producing timely reports for use by staff, Board of Directors, and the public, which are geared to the level of understanding and interest of each audience
  • Manage EHR workgroup functions
  • Documentation of help desk ticket resolution
  • Utilizes a collaborative approach in all interactions involving other departments, providers &/or systems; seeks consensus when recommending changes that affect other systems; includes others in discussions regarding quality improvement measures; combines &/or coordinates resources whenever possible to most efficiently & effectively meet the needs of the organization & the clients served.
  • Creating and maintaining security standards as they relate to the scope of this position.
  • Developing and monitoring quality initiatives in his/her department. Managing related projects and adhering to budget constraints. Following through on directives given to him/her by their supervisor or by administrative staff. Being aware of the Agency's operating budget and function within its limits. Participating in strategic planning related to the organizations information technology infrastructure.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software implementation?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate's degree in a computer related field

  • A minimum of five years' experience in managing EHR software implementation and/or maintenance, including workflow design and documentation.
